What to Expect During a Mobile DNA Appointment

At BioLink Mobile DNA Lab LLC, our mobile appointments are designed to be respectful, organized, and transparent while maintaining strict legal, privacy, and chain-of-custody requirements. Each appointment follows a structured process to ensure accuracy, security, and client confidence.

Before Your Appointment

Prior to your scheduled appointment, all participants receive confirmation details outlining the date, time, and mutually agreed meeting location. For court-admissible DNA testing, each participant must present a valid government-issued photo identification. Acceptable forms include a state-issued ID, driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued photo ID. Identification is required to verify identity and maintain proper chain-of-custody.

Any adult or legal guardian will be required to provide photo identification when accompanying a minor to their legal DNA test.

It is required for all DNA testing appointments that no consumption of food or beverage occurs thirty minutes prior to your appointment. Please plan accordingly.

Arrival & Identity Verification

Upon arrival, the BioLink Mobile DNA Lab technician verifies each participant’s identity using the provided government-issued identification. Participants will also be asked to confirm they have not eaten or drank anything for 30 minutes prior to their appointment. Documentation and photographs may be collected as required for all legal testing. This step protects the integrity and legal validity of the testing process.

Consent & Documentation

All participants, or legal guardians when applicable, review and sign required consent forms prior to sample collection. These documents outline the testing process, privacy protections, and how results will be handled.

No samples are collected without proper consent.

Please note that it is required that a photo is taken of all participants at the time of legal DNA testing. A BioLink Mobile DNA Lab technician will take a photo of you during your appointment.

Sample Collection

DNA samples are collected using a non-invasive cheek swab (buccal). The process is quick, painless, and appropriate for adults and children. Each sample is carefully labeled, sealed, and documented according to chain-of-custody protocols.

Chain of Custody & Secure Handling

For court-admissible testing, strict chain-of-custody procedures are followed throughout the appointment.

Samples are securely packaged and prepared for transport to an AABB-certified laboratory, ensuring accuracy and legal acceptance.

After the Appointment

Once the appointment is complete, samples are shipped to the appropriate laboratory for analysis. Results are released based on the selected testing type. BioLink Mobile DNA Lab LLC remains available to answer general process-related questions following your appointment.
